IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration.
IELTS is an English language exam that is required to be taken by international candidates considering studying or working in a country where English is the main language of communication. Most popular countries where IELTS is accepted for university admissions are the UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA, and Canada. The exam mainly measures the ability of test-takers to communicate in the four basic English language skills – listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
Exam is jointly owned and conducted by IDP Education Australia, British Council, and Cambridge English Language Assessment
IELTS exam pattern has not changed in the recent years.
Test has two modules:
A) IELTS Academic
B) IELTS General Training
IELTS Academic test – is for those who want to apply for higher education in universities and other institutions or pursue professional registration such as medical doctors and nurses in an English-speaking country.
IELTS General Training test – is for those who are planning to migrate or apply for secondary education, training programs and work experience in an English-speaking country.
Note : There is specific IELTS test for UK visas and immigration ( UKVI) . If you are looking to work , study or live in the UK then you may need to take this test.
Eligibility criteria :
IELTS is required for students above 16 years of age who want to study in UK, Australia, Canada, US and New Zealand.
IELTS is required for working professionals who want to work abroad.
IELTS is required for those planning to emigrate to Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
For IELTS exam, the minimum education qualification is 10+2.
These criteria make sure that the candidate is prepared to face an environment where English is the language of communication.

1. Online registration –
• Choose the test dates, centre and complete other application details.
• Pay through debit/credit card (visa, visa electron, mastercard).
2. Post/courier registration –
• Download the IELTS registration form.
• Choose the test date, centre and complete other application details.
• Pay by demand draft or by cash or ICICI bank deposit slip.
• Provide a Blue Dart courier serviceable address on the registration form as the IELTS study book and the test report form (TRF) will be sent to that address.

TOEFL
TOEFL (“Test of English as a Foreign Language”) is a standardized test that measures a test-taker’s mastery of the English language.
Candidates should be aware that the TOEFL test is held in two formats, viz. TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test) and TOEFL Paper-delivered test. The TOEFL iBT is a more preferred mode of the exam and represents more than 98% of the TOEFL represents more than 98% of the TOEFL tests given worldwide, while the revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test is only available in locations that do not support the use of the Internet. There is no Speaking section because of the technological requirements of capturing spoken responses.
What is TOEFL IBT?
As the name suggests, the TOEFL Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT) is the online version of the TOEFL test for candidates looking to appear for their exam. It is the more preferred medium of TOEFL due to its ease of convenience and uses fewer resources.
What is TOEFL Paper-delivered Test?
Candidates who do not have access to the TOEFL iBT test can opt for the revised TOEFL® Paper-delivered Test. The revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test has been made available for locations that cannot support testing via the internet. The paper test has been modeled closely with the TOEFL iBT test and requires candidates to combine their communication skills — for example, listening to a lecture, reading a passage, and then writing a response. Candidates should be aware that in this format of the TOEFL exam, there is no Speaking section because of the technological requirements of capturing spoken responses.
The examination has 4 sections:
A) Reading
B) Writing
C) Speaking
D) Listening
Here, students are expected to answer questions on 3-4 passages on academic topics which are approximately around 700 words long. There are a total of 10 questions on each passage.
Listening Section
The listening section requires the student to answer questions on the basis of listening to conversations and mini-lectures. There are around 2-3 conversations (around 2.5-3 minutes each) post which one needs to answer 5 questions, and around 5-7 lectures ( of around 4.5-5.5 minutes each) based on which the student needs to answer 6 questions per lecture.
Speaking Section
This section has four different tasks as follows:
Task 1: Independent task — Verbally expressing an opinion on questions on familiar topics
Task 2,3, 4 – Integrated tasks (In task 2 and 4, students are given a short passage/academic lecture/conversation on campus life to read up on, post which they answer questions orally. For Task 3, they have to listen to an academic lecture and answer a question on the basis of that orally)
Writing Section
This section has two tasks:
1 Independent task – Here, the student is required to write an essay that states their opinion on a topic or a choice they would make in a particular situation and justification for the same.
2 Integrated task – Here, students are required to read a passage on an academic topic and listen to a speaker who discusses the topic. Then the test-taker has to write a summary of key points that he heard and their relation to the key points in the passage that he had to read.

A) PTE Academic exam – Computer-based English language test
PTE Academic exam is accepted by thousands of educational institutions across the world. Accepted by the governments of Australia and New Zealand for visa purposes. Those who aspire to go abroad for studying in a major English speaking country like the UK, Australia, USA, and Canada take the PTE Academic exam to prove their English language efficiency.
B) PTE General
This test can be taken 3 times a year viz. May, June, and December.
This test consists of two parts: a written paper and spoken test like an interview, where both parts evaluate the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of the test taker with a more realistic approach.
The test format involves six different proficiency levels designed to test and approve the general English language abilities of the test taker. The score is valid for a lifetime.
C) PTE young learners: This test is designed for children from 6 – 13 years. It includes story writing, picture matching, group speaking section, and board game, tec. It is a fun test. The score is valid for lifetime.
PTE exam format has been formulated to assess the speaking, writing, listening and reading skills of candidates in the English language.
The PTE exam consists of three main parts – Speaking & Writing, Reading and Listening, which the candidates need to complete in 3 hours with an optional 10 minutes break between the reading and listening parts. Different questions are asked in the PTE exam ranging from multiple-choice, essay writing to interpreting information. Given below is the detailed PTE exam pattern.
